Well, you've heard that
wonderful Margaret Mead quote about how you should
never doubt that a small group of dedicated people can
change the world, and that, indeed, it's the only
thing that ever has. I was privy to a hint of this
release last week, but like all such things, one waits
until the ink is dry and we know it's the real deal.
(Unlike CBS or ABC)
From Columbus, OH to
Mayfield, KY - Honolulu, HI to Logansport, IN and
Sacramento, CA to Minneapolis, MN you answered a
challenge to do the right thing for the right
reasons. All over America, from small towns to large
metropolitan cities, from big internet boards like
Free Republic to the smaller and more personal
political blogs people let Clear Channel
Communications know what was on their minds and on
their air. Will we ever know what role we played long
before others took up the cause? Probably not, nor
does it really matter.
From me, your humble webmaster, to all of you, my
deepest thanks to making a difference and speaking
out.
Associated Press Fox to Provide News to
Clear Channel 12.06.2004, 08:02 AM
Clear Channel Communications
Inc. said Monday it has selected Fox News Radio to be
the primary source of national news for most of Clear
Channel Radio's news and talk stations under a
five-year agreement.
Fox will provide a
five-minute top-of-the-hour newscast, a nightly news
broadcast, and around-the-clock dedicated national
news coverage, and will also be the primary provider
for breaking national news. In return, Fox News Radio
will have access to news produced by Clear Channel's
news network.
In a joint press release, Fox
News Radio, a division of Fox News, which is owned by
News Corp., said this marks its first major affiliate
group deal and creates a direct competitor to ABC
Radio and CBS Radio. Fox News said that if all options
in the agreement are exercised, its radio service
could have more than 500 affiliates by mid-2005.
ABC - You're Fired!
If Clear Channel Communications would just follow the
example of Sinclair Broadcasting in the past year, they would dump ABC
and the pain inflicted on their listeners at every national
news break.
Matt Drudge was first to expose
ABC's directives this week leading up to the election. "ABC
Political Director Mark Halperin, Dated Friday October 8,
2004:
Full story here
An internal memo written by ABCNEWS Political Director Mark
Halperin admonishes ABC staff: During coverage of Democrat
Kerry and Republican Bush not to "reflexively and
artificially hold both sides 'equally' accountable."
But Halperin claims that Bush is hoping to "win the election
by destroying Senator Kerry at least partly through
distortions."
"The current Bush attacks on Kerry involve distortions and
taking things out of context in a way that goes beyond what
Kerry has done," Halperin writes.
Since the
Drudge report went public, ABC has removed webpages and
they've censored their message boards on ABCnews.com regarding
the Halperin memo. Posts under the "Halperin's memo" topic on
the "feedback" section of their boards deleted, leaving only
the original first post. It became pretty clear how
these instructions played out tonight:
PDN
Webmaster writes: "First
blush they are giving Kerry 42 percent, a 1% edge over the
President. I must wonder if the 14% that call it a draw or the
3% with no opinion really think Al Gore won the debate." :-)
Breaking News Today!
Like Father, like son...
Halperin connected to
George Soros and Kerry Campaign.
IS THE ESTABLISHMENT
MEDIA BIASED
against conservatives? Dan Rather remains in the anchor
chair at the CBS Evening News despite his involvement in
recent news stories based on
dishonest reporting,
fabricated documents
and even Internet gossip falsely alleging that President
George W. Bush secretly intends to begin the military
conscription of students. These stories were obviously
designed to damage Mr. Bush in the final weeks before a
national election.
And now ABC News has left in place
its Political Director Mark Halperin. ABC has done this
despite the
network’s acknowledgement
that Halperin wrote a memo that to many seems to direct
ABC reporters, anchors and producers to slant its
coverage by downplaying the misstatements of Democratic
presidential candidate Senator John Kerry and by viewing
negatively any misstatements by Republican candidate
Bush.

Webmaster Update: Mark Williams
asked that his name be removed from this page, claiming it
implied an endorsement by him of PDN's initiative with Clear
Channel. Initially, that request was honored. After being
banned from the KFBK airwaves by Mr. Williams, it was decided we
would let our visitors be the judge. Does the letter below
"Invoke" Mr. Williams' name as an endorsement for what became a
successful campaign? Grow up Mark! This
was NEVER about you!

crank until the idea succeeds.” Not so in
Sacramento, California or on this Clear Channel station.

Subject: Replace ABC news feed with FoxNewsNetwork
Gentlemen:
Thank you for hosting outstanding talk radio hosts
like KFBK's Mark Williams and Tom Sullivan in the
Sacramento market. Please take a bold step against
liberal networks like ABC and replace the news
breaks with the Fox News feed. As loyal listeners,
we're offended by the constant bias shown by ABC.
How far across the line must they step
before someone with the clout of Clear Channel says
enough! We stand up for broadcasters who take bold
steps: We supported Sinclair Broadcasting and Mark
Hyman's actions regarding ABC's Nightline.
http://www.patriotwatch.com/Nightline-tyranny.htm
Certainly you, your investors, advertisers and
shareholders would benefit from the PR and the
screams of network news executives and liberals were
you to pull ABC or make a public statement you're
considering such action. One need only reflect
on ABC's and other's reaction to Sinclair's move
with Nightline and now "Stolen Honor: Wounds That
Never Heal" that may air soon on their stations.
We
network nation-wide and NightTalk Live is very
popular on the Internet. Our friend's only complaint
about programming is the news breaks from ABC.
Hitting the "MUTE" button is a pain but less than
listening to Peter Jennings bash our country and our
President.
We
look forward to your feedback. Talk radio is a two
way street.

Subject: Replace ABC news feed with FoxNewsNetwork
Sirs:
Thank you for hosting outstanding talk radio in America!
Take a bold step against liberal networks like ABC and
replace the news breaks with a Fox News Network feed.
Believe me there is a strong movement afoot against the
anti-American line that the major networks and CNN keep
feeding us. You would be amazed at the increase in your
listeners if you took whatever steps necessary to rid
yourselves of the anti-American sentiment of ABC and others.
While I would not want to hear only the "Rah, Rah" side I am
really tired of hearing how bad America is about everything
we do. Lots of positive things are happening in Iraq and we
never hear them or they are "spun" negative. Look how well
Fox news is doing as the only news that will show a somewhat
"balanced" story line. (I still do not consider them
conservative by any means but they are at least closer to
the middle than anyone else.)
Thank you for your time.

LEAVE IT TO A LIBERAL The
Concept of One Person One Vote?
The response to our project
is very encouraging. As expected the folks who love to
hate our site have shown up too. But this one is so
typical of "fair and balanced" I just had to out the writer.
Keep up the good
work and continue assoiciating with ABC since it is not
biased. Fox News is incredibly biased. If you report
the news in an unbiased manner the conservatives will
state that it is biased since the truth does not agree
with their opinion.

Because they report the news in an unbiased manner
wheras Fox is as biased as they get.
So Savage,
you got your extra votes. Guess what, you were the
only one to vote twice! Practicing up for November 2nd
are we?
