Military families receive Legislature's Resolution
In the Assembly of
the State of California
WHEREAS, May 22, 2004, is being
recognized as Yellow Ribbon Day in California, including
Sacramento and its surrounding communities, in support of
military families and our troops who are defending our
country; and
WHEREAS, It is very difficult for military families who
have loved ones in the very dangerous conflict in Iraq and
Afghanistan who are fighting for freedom for all; and
WHEREAS, Because of the importance of demonstrating
support for military families and troops during this very
difficult time, May 22, 2004, has been designated to
publicly show support for these individuals; and
WHEREAS, Ceremonial activities have been planned to bring
people together to commemorate Yellow Ribbon Day in
support of our military families and our troops; and
WHEREAS, Californians are proud of our troops and their
families, and appreciate the great sacrifice they are
making to assure freedom for all; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by Assembly Member Nicole M. Parra, That, in
support of military families and their loved ones who are
defending our country and fighting for the preservation of
freedom for all, she recognizes May 22, 2004, Yellow
Ribbon Day, as a special day for Californians to extend
sincerest appreciation for the sacrifices military
families and our troops are making and to commemorate our
troops and their families with ceremonial activities.

YELLOW RIBBON DAY
IN SACRAMENTO COUNTY
WHEREAS, May 22, 2004 is being recognized in Sacramento and
surrounding communities in Northern California
as
YELLOW RIBBON DAY in support of military families and our
troops who bravely serve our country; and
WHEREAS, it is very difficult for military families who have
loved ones in the very dangerous conflict in Iraq; and
WHEREAS, realizing how important it is to show support for
military families and troops during this very difficult time,
May 22, 2004 has been designated to publicly show support for
these individuals; and
WHEREAS, many activities have been planned to help celebrate
YELLOW RIBBON DAY in SUPPORT OF MILITARY FAMILIES AND OUR
TROOPS Day, bringing people together beginning with Reveille
at 7:30 a.m. in Roseville and Granet Bay, followed by a
celebration at Crawdad's Restaurant, 1375 Garden Highway, as
well as afternoon celebrations; and
WHEREAS, our community is proud of our troops and their
families and appreciate the great sacrifice they are making.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Sacramento, State of California, hereby
offers its support to military families and their loved ones
who are serving in our military, and further extends its
sincere appreciation for the sacrifices they are making.

Whereas,
May 22, 2004, is being recognized as
Yellow Ribbon Day in Support of Military Families and
Our Troops, in Northern California, Sacramento and
surrounding communities: and,
Whereas, Yellow Ribbon Day
in Support of Military Families and Our Troops is
intended to show support for military families and for
our military personnel who are defending our country;
and,
Whereas, these are very
difficult times for military families who have loved
ones fighting for freedom in the very dangerous
conflicts in
Iraq and Afghanistan; and,
Whereas, realizing how
important it is to show support for military families
and our troops during these conflicts, May 22, 2004,
has been designated as a day to publicly show support
for these individuals; and,
Whereas, ceremonial
activities have been planned to commemorate Yellow
Ribbon Day in Support of Military Families and Our
Troops, bringing people together beginning with events
such as Reveille, Project Yellow Ribbon; An Operation:
Stitches of Love Military Family Meeting; Public and
Family Video Messages to the Troops; and a formal
Closing Memorial Service on the waterfront; and,
Whereas,
El Dorado County communities are proud of
our troops and their families and appreciate the great
sacrifice they are making to assure freedom for all.
Now therefore be it
resolved: that the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors
joins with other counties and the State of
California, and hereby recognizes and
appreciates the sacrifices that military families and
their loved ones, who are defending our country and
fighting for the preservation of freedom for all, are
making.
Adopted by a unanimous
vote of said Board, at their regular meeting held the
18th day of May, 2004.
