BE THEIR PARTNERS
Somewhere in Northern California there is a television station's news
department that would love to help us deliver a message to our troops.
Perhaps there's a stringer or two who would answer the call on what is often
considered a slow news day. That emerging videographer is welcome to lend a hand.

This motto was drilled into me at a young age by my Commandant during my Military Academy years.  As retired combat Marine officer, he mentored and shaped young minds. We grew up believing that nothing worthwhile can be denied to those who dare what others think impossible.

Yellow Ribbon Day truly reflect the above concept and we're looking for a media partner.  This day will pay tribute to military families.  We want these heartfelt and positive images delivered to those family's loved ones via the Internet and DVD.

Simple Plan for the right people. Family members can tape a 30 second greeting to their loved one and their buddies serving with them. They would have filled out a release prior to the taping. There will be a booth or area set aside for this purpose.  Later,  B roll of the various activities of the day would be mixed in as part of a larger story on community support of families at home.

Start Time: 7:30 in Roseville for kick-off (optional) Contact webmaster.

Event Times: 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. this Saturday May 22, 2004

Family Video taping booth: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

After Action: Assist with editing and production for final distribution via DVD.  All promotional considerations open to discussion, sponsoring options considered as well as revenue sharing options for any public sales or marketing.

For your consideration:

This project began on May 3, 2004 when a Marine mom called a popular talk radio host and asked "Where are the Yellow Ribbons showing support for our loved ones?"

In two weeks time a joint resolution to honor this day worked its way through both houses of the Legislature. Same for the City and County of Sacramento.

A grandmother headed up a Yellow Ribbon fundraiser in a week's time that involved dozens of volunteers that had never met. It was all facilitated via email and this website. It was a successful project to offset our expenses for May 22nd.

Today, dozens of strangers are working from cities all over the Valley to make this event a special day for military families.  Some said it was difficult, others said it was impossible. You can help us prove the later wrong...

Help us show those families where those yellow ribbons are....
