PDN will be making Yellow Ribbon Day flyers available today
(Sunday) at this solemn Capitol Event. If you're near
downtown Sacramento today pay tribute to returning military
personnel who served our country so well:
The ceremony honoring returning National Guard
members from the 270th Military Police Company based here
in Sacramento will take place this Sunday, May 16 at the
Capitol south steps at 2pm.
It is a "Welcome Home from Iraq," event. There will
be an awards ceremony giving out 8 Purple Heart, several
Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medals for their
service.
They were convoy security, on high value search
missions and other combat support roles. It was their
second deployment since 9/11.
